The personal injury law firm of Trolman, Glaser & Lichtman was founded in New York City, and our home has been here for 40 years. Our firm's people lost family members, loved ones, friends, and acquaintances who were tragically killed in the 9/11 World Trade Center attack. We mourned this senseless act of destruction.
We were immediately moved to do something for the victims. Though nothing will ever make these families whole again, our firm knew we could help in assisting and securing a measure of compensation for the persons and families who sustained these terrible losses.
Partner Jeffrey A. Lichtman, a past president of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, was a founding board member and was instrumental in creating a national program to provide free legal representation to any 9/11 family. The program, known as Trial Lawyers Care, Inc., was sponsored by the American Association of Trial Lawyers, now the American Association for Justice. We were very proud of our participation in Trial Lawyers Care, Inc.
As T.L.C. volunteers we assisted in assessing damages and preparing documents that relatives and living victims needed to submit to the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund. Trolman, Glaser & Lichtman attorneys had donated a considerable amount of their time to assist victims of this terrible tradegy free of charge.
Members of our firm continue to volunteer in their communities as part of our ongoing work to sustain and increase access to the courthouse for people who seek justice and compensation. We also work to advance legislation for greater protection of victims of accidents.
