Joel A. Glaser is an experienced trial lawyer and has successfully handled a wide variety of matters including automobile accidents, construction accidents, trip/slip and falls, malicious prosecution, legal malpractice, nursing home negligence and products liability. Mr. Glaser devotes his practice to serving the victims of wrongful death and catastrophic injuries resulting from medical negligence. He was a 2001 graduate of Brooklyn Law School and has remained a dedicated member of his law school community by serving as a Director of the Board of Directors of the Brooklyn Law School Alumni Association. He was admitted to the Bar of the State of New York and the Federal Bar in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York in 2002. He continues to be an active member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and The American Association For Justice.

The following is a representative sample of some Mr. Glaser’s most recent results:

$3,000,000 for a Bronx mother of four, who suffered pelvic and urologic injuries during a traumatic birth at a Bronx Hospital.

$900,000 for the young parents of a teenager who died as a result of the negligent administration of chemotherapy meant to treat her leukemia.”

$900,000 for a young Queen’s woman, who suffered a chemical burn to her arm when a nurse at a City Hospital failed to timely recognize that an IV was leaking medicine outside the vein.

$500,000 for a Nassau County resident who suffered a nerve injury when the doctor treating him for chronic backpain, injected pain medication into the wrong part of the spine.”

$700,000 for a man who tripped and fell on defective steps in an apartment building.

$450,000 for a man who slipped and fell on debris upon a stairway in an apartment building.

A Rockland County jury found that an orthopedic surgeon failed to diagnose and appropriately treat a serious hip infection in a 52 year old construction worker. He, and his supportive wife, were awarded $2,300,000 to compensate them for his chronic pain, lost wages and the effects the malpractice has had on their relationship.

$1,350,000 was obtained for the children of a loving father and Bronx resident who sought to combat his obesity and improve his quality of life through gastric bypass surgery. He passed away during the operation due to complications of anesthesia.

A $600,000 settlement was reached, while awaiting trial, for a learning disabled teen from Queens. His eye doctor failed to take any action to cure his lazy eye.” Due to the doctor’s negligence, this young man suffered a partial loss of vision.

On the eve of trial, a $500,000 settlement was obtained for a child from Queens who, at age 3, suffered complications during a circumcision. Although he has fully recovered, he had to endure multiple surgeries to restore normal function of his penis.

An expectant young mother from Queens received $450,000 for the trauma of losing her unborn child when the physicians at a Queens Hospital delayed in delivering the child. They failed to recognize and act upon the clear signs of fetal distress.

Doctors and nurses failed to order emergency treatment for life threatening injuries sustained by an elderly woman after she was left unattended and fell in a Manhattan hospital. The family of this terminally ill cancer patient received $440,000 to compensate them for their loss.
